You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby

From The Last English Prince:
Yesterday one of my clients told me the story of her great grandmother. She was full-blooded Navajo. Her great grandfather “won her in a poker game.”
When asked if he married her, the client stated, “Yes, but family lore is that she went on the war path and gave him hell his entire life!”
You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby!
The Last English Prince salutes every single level-headed woman who has entered the work force, forged a career, and managed to keep a sense of humor and grace about “men!”. Regarding our current “National Day of Reckoning” – it is a day of oral recounting of the transgressions of “men!”.
As for myself, I have lived, worked, and loved the world of “men!” for years. It has been accomplished with a few interesting intersections with the opposite sex.
But these things are intersection and not vast boulevard… intersection and momentary and almost forgotten brief memories… intersection, not life-defining events. For when the other is allowed to shape and define my life, my life is over.
My life is my own. And I take complete ownership of it: In the moment, during the hour, throughout the day, for a lifetime… under the shadow of grace, and with a deep commitment to being an American woman. Rightful place.
It is my rightful place and great privilege.
And yes, we have come a long way and should rejoice in that small fact! An American woman. Surrounded by “men!”. And I kind’a like that little fact.

"salutes every single level-headed woman who has entered the work force, forged a career..."

What is "level-headed" about either forestalling marriage and maybe having one child or never getting married (having kid(s) out of wedlock) at all
because a "career" came first? Western women try to find fulfillment in a career instead becoming mothers or try to "have it all" and live a inchoate life of stress and anti-depressants. Third-world savages have no such diversions and are quite satisfied to subsume the West with their progeny...
that the Western world underwrites with their tax dollars. A stupid commentary.

Errr.... This career woman has married, raised children, served as a Naval Officer, worked on the board of both a military and a charitable organization, worked as front of house staff for an arts center with two theaters and several art galleries... international journalism career... have never needed anti-depressants... and surrounded by other women who have embraced life and the vast array of choices which include but are not limited to being a wife and mother. This does not have to be an either/or proposition in America.

Life leaves the sidewalk and enters the boulevard of humanity. I would not have it any other way.

American woman, Baby! Have come a long way!

What about women who can't have children or choose not to have children. do they "live a inchoate life of stress and anti-depressants."

Also there is a reason it is called the 3rd world.
